Training this week

This week Mon/Wed/Thur/Fri there is no training on, Elswick is still closed... Saturday will be open at Wallsend and then normal service will resume the following Monday 5th Jan (woohoo!)

Christmas day tomorrow so wishing everyone at Gracie Barra Newcastle a Merry Christmas! - Rest up have fun and enjoy some good food!

Training is off tomorrow and Friday but back on Saturday.

New year, new competitions

With every one being disapointed with the Northern open being cancelled I thought would post details of a couple of competions in the begining of the new year if any one fancies traveling to them.

First one is Ground control grappling, a no Gi comp in Liverpool on Feb 22nd I think they are doing beginners cats. (less than 12 months) as well for the less experienced guys.

The second one is the Bristol open - winter leg. This is a Gi comp but I lot further to travel! This is going to be split over two days, Feb28th and March1st

Stole this from a post by Olli Geddes on the EFN forums, its a video of a fight from HDNets, trust me if your a fan of jiu jitsu and MMA you will love this, it has armbars(flying and normal), triangles, footlocks, heelhooks, guillotenes, RNC's and more ALL in ONE round lol. Great watching!

No training tomorrow (Friday!)

Dave let us know tonight at Wallsend that there is no training on tomorrow night (Friday) - If you know anyone who's going but might not read this give them a text or call let them know.

Back on as normal from Saturday at Wallsend then Monday at Elswick pool.

More MMA this weekend....

Well this weekend, my fight is off.. got messed about a bit had 2 fights canceled then a dodgy offer so thats off! Not sure whats happening with Steve's fight not heard anything from him so don't know if thats on or not..

BUT on the upside, Marcs fight got cancelled on the same show and he went and accepted a fight on the Northern Fight League show organised by Rob Mills and Craig Jose in Newcastle, fought 'B' class pro and won in 2 mins of the first round via RNC!! awesome win.


***Update***

Steve's opponant also came in over weight (90kg) so that fight was also pulled!! Not a great show it seems we went from 3 fights on the card to none! - Fantastic.

MMA this weekend!

Well, got a few people fighting this coming weekend in MMA.. First up is Chris McClarence fighting 'B'class pro at the northumbria uni on Saturday. Then Steve Stringfellow, Mark Platts and myself are fighting at the 'Cagefighting Championships' show in middlesboro on the Sunday at http://www.martonhotel.co.uk/ .. check out the site for directions.

If you need any tickets see (hopefully) Steve or Marc this week or if your not in you can buy on the door!

***Update*** - 06/12/08

Well my fight is off (twice!! grr!!) - So I'm not fighting.. gutted after all this training. BUT so far Mark looks like he is still fighting although I've heard no news about Steve and his opponant. Anything will be posted once known.
