Final news on the Europeans

They are home and we have the final info from Portugal.. Big James won his fight in the teams on points by 12-0, awesome achievement for James his first win in Europe getting a fantastic win. Unfortunately the GBUK team lost 3-2 overall but James won his fight!

There was a few other good wins for UK guys, with Pippa Granger from Roger Gracie academy placing 2nd in the blue belt female super feathers and a few other notable wins too..

Some news from Portugal

The Europeans are underway and we have a little bit news.. Lisa and James have both fought with Lisa losing via armbar to the eventual winner in her 1st fight and Big James only losing by 2 points after working very hard passing guard and almost getting the back. James is also fighting in the blue belt teams comp today after having the blue belt absolutes canceled, good luck man!

Ross and Tyrones competition diet

We are nearing the competition season so I thought it would be good to get some diet advice from 2 successful competitors... Both recommended the following for a good protein and fat (!) source, apparently Ross is quite dedicated to this diet and sticks to it regularly and is converting Tyrone to it quite quickly!

UFC 80 and competitions..

Well it seems like there was quite a club turnout at UFC 80 last night with Dave and myself in the same area as the fighters family and friends which was awesome and also Tyrone, Ross, Chris, Jez, Andy, Gav, Gary and Bill there too! Awesome show.. nothing like being there in person to hear Mr Buffer annouce.


We have a couple of upcoming competitions too, first off is the biggest.. The Europeans in Lisbon, Portugal on the 26th and 27th with Big James and Lisa competing and both are kicking some ass at the moment!

Plus there is also the Urban Gorillaz 'GenX' NoGi grappling tourney coming up on the 2nd of March in Birmingham at the same venue as the Northern Open. It has both a novice and advanced section (2 years training and below for novice) So a busy time ahead!
