FILA Trials

Just back from the FILA trials. It was a tiring day (7 hours driving for me whilst Ian and Lisa slept all the way there).

Lisa and Ian flew the flag for the club. Gav couldn't make it due to car failure on his way down.

Lisa was the first to fight winning with an armbar. Ian then fought and won with a rear naked choke in 2 mins.

Lisa's second fight was with a junior fighter and Lisa worked position winning 7-1. Ian then fought the eventual winner of his category and lost by armbar.

The final round saw Lisa fighting a male opponent and pulling off a triangle after a failed armbar attempt to win the under 48kg division. Ian then had another submission victory winning with rear naked choke again to take 2nd place in the under 62kg group.

Lisa was invited to compete for the United Kingdom National Team at the World Grappling Games in Turkey in September. If anyone knows of any companies that can give her some sponsorship to help her get there please let us know.
