UK Trials - FILA Grappling World Championship - 29th July
The FILA Grappling Committee have given approval for British Trials to be held to select a team for the first FILA World Grappling Championships to be held in Turkey 7-9 Sept 2007.
Sunday 29th July 2007 Stantonbury Centre Milton Keynes MK14 6BN
The format will be pool system allow the top two fighters from each weight to emerge and be in contention for the two slots available for each weigh division( please note you must have a valid British Passport to represent GB at this event) cost £25 to enter spectators £5.
Men: 62 kg/ 70 kg/80 kg/ 92 kg/125 kg/
Women 48 kg/ 55 kg/63 kg/ 72 kg
The FILA Grappling Committee have stated that the trials will be the main way to qualify for the world event.

Ian's right 1st and 2nd get flights to Turkey in September.
The rules aren't too different to standard sub wrestling except some of the subs aren't allowed.
Interesting... Still trying to find a list of what subs are and are not allowed lol
Just read right through the holds and the only things that aren't allowed are heel hooks, wristlocks and throws/takedowns using joint locks.
So you can use kneebars if you want to.
